BAND AID ORGANIZATIONS

It takes help from many people and organizations to make a successful band program. Each group is designed to work together to benefit students, parents, the school, and the community. It is understood that the groups work together for the common good of all band students.

PALM SPRINGS INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC BOOSTERS ASSOCIATION

ThePALM SPRINGS INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC BOOSTERS ASSOCIATION

are a dynamic group of parents, community members, and volunteers who work to raise funds for the band program, build strong ties to the community, promote the best interests of all band students, build camaraderie amongst band parents, assist in organizing band events, provide vital communication links to band participants and family, and assist the band director in a multitude of ways. They are governed by a set of bylaws and are registered as a 501(C3) with the State of California. This group invites any and all interested band enthusiasts to help with the activities of this fun and exciting group. IT IS CRITICAL THAT PARENTS HELP WITH RAISING THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES THAT ALLOW THE BAND TO PROVIDE THE ENRICHED EXTRAORDINARY OPPORTUNITIES THAT THE GROUP UNDERTAKES ABOVE AND BEYOND an ordinary educational experience.

BAND COUNCIL

The Band Council is a student based group which meets to plan social events for band students, plan and organize on campus fundraising through ASB, helps provide student information to Mr. Ingelson, assists in planning in-house events, helps with set up and set down of activities, and provides information to the ASB. Meetings will be held at regular times. Band members are encouraged to provide input and assistance to the council.

SECTION LEADERS

Section leaders are managers in the band program. It is their job to assist the Directors in taking care of the day-to-day jobs that surround an effective, quality band program. When working in this capacity, it is important that section leaders act as diplomats and communication experts. It is also important that they are well organized and are responsible in carrying out directions. Section Leaders are not necessarily “first chair players”. The focus on this position is on “people skills” and responsibility. Section Leaders must also be strong role models for the section. Each section will be electing a “Leader” who will assist with given tasks.
